Mark is only able to conduct business by appointment at this time, so a brief phone call ahead of time will make it possible for him to personally attend to your needs promptly and at your convenience. With lots of off street parking available, and a location inside the local community, he looks forward to being able to offer affordable rates and quick turnaround on your repairs.
Mark Moreland is a full member of the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers as well as The Violin Society of America. Mark’s personal instruments grace the music halls of Europe, Canada, Africa and the USA. He has won numerous awards in International Competitions. He also has worked on many great instruments over the years including the 1689 “Archinto” Stradivarius cello, 1693 Ex “Misha Schneider” M. Goffriller cello, numerous Tecchler cellos, countless Vuillaumes, and several famous del Gesu violins.

Mark Moreland has recently returned to the Pacific Northwest and is pleased to announce the opening of his new shop in Battle Ground, Washington. Mark is well known in this area from his time running Schuback Violin Shop as General Manager and Shop Foreman for nearly 24 years. In pursuit of excellence in the field of fine instrument craftsmanship, repair, and restoration, Mark has journeyed throughout the country with his wife gaining experience and knowledge that has brought him back to his home in the Pacific Northwest. Over the last 8 years, Mark & Sharon have gained valuable insight into how best to serve the needs of the musical community through their employment with eastman strings in Clarksburg, MD, Potter’s Violin Shop in Bethesda, MD, and Robertson’s Violin Shop in Albuquerque, NM. Now, they have returned to SW Washington to start their own shop to serve the area of Vancouver and surrounding communities as well as the greater Portland metro area. Mark’s professional goals are to build more high quality instruments while also offering his exceptional repair, restoration, and tonal adjustment knowledge to the local community. The shop is situated in East Battle Ground on Grace Ave. between 199th (Eaton Blvd.) and Main Street on the west side of the road. The shop will also offer instruments for sale and rent as well as a limited stock of strings and accessories.
